Is this safe to use for food or drink?

Unless the product page specifically says a piece is food-safe, please treat our pottery as decorative. Traditional glazes vary between workshops, so if you plan to serve food in a particular piece, ask us first and we will confirm with the artisan.

Can it go in the microwave or dishwasher?

No. Hand-painted and traditionally fired pottery should not go in a microwave, oven or dishwasher — the heat and the harsh cycle will craze the glaze and lift the paint.

How do I clean it?

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid soaking, scouring pads and abrasive cleaners, all of which will dull the surface.

It is fragile — how is it shipped?

Pottery is packed with extra cushioning for transit. If a piece still arrives damaged, photograph it before unpacking any further and email us within 7 days — breakages in transit are covered.

The colour differs slightly from the photograph.

Hand-painting and kiln firing make every piece slightly different, and screen colours vary too. Small differences in shade and pattern are expected.

Why does my piece look slightly different from the photo?

Every item is handmade, so small variations in colour, size, texture and finish are natural. Screen calibration also affects how colours appear. These differences are a sign the piece was made by hand.

What if it arrives damaged?
