How should I wash this?
Hand-wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent, unless the product page says otherwise. Do not bleach, do not wring, and dry flat in the shade. Handloom and naturally dyed fabrics do not respond well to machine washing or harsh detergents.
Will the colour run?
Natural and hand-dyed fabrics can release a little excess dye in the first wash or two. Wash separately the first few times. This settles down and is normal for traditionally dyed textiles.
Will it shrink?
Natural fibres like cotton and wool can shrink slightly on first wash. Cold water and shade drying keep this to a minimum.
How do I store shawls and woollens?
Store clean and completely dry, folded in a breathable cotton bag rather than plastic. A neem leaf or cedar block helps keep moths away during storage.
The weave is slightly uneven — is that a defect?
No. Handloom fabric carries small irregularities in weave and texture because it is made on a hand-operated loom. It is the signature of handwoven cloth, not a flaw.
Why does my piece look slightly different from the photo?
Every item is handmade, so small variations in colour, size, texture and finish are natural. Screen calibration also affects how colours appear. These differences are a sign the piece was made by hand.
